Reflexology

Reflexology is the technique of applying gentle pressure to reflex areas on the feet to bring about a state of deep relaxation and to stimulate the body’s own healing process.

The theory underlying reflexology is that reflex areas or reflex points on the feet and hands correspond to each organ and structure in the body and are linked to the organs by energy channels or meridians. When illnesses or imbalances occur in the body, the corresponding energy channels become blocked. By stimulating these areas using massage with the thumb or fingers, you can destroy these blockages allowing energy to flow freely again restoring the body’s natural balance, helping promote good health.

Some of the benefits include;

¶ Relieves tension and stress and has a deeply relaxing effect

¶ Improves circulation and increases the flow of oxygen and nutrients that the body needs

¶ The relaxation side of reflexology can extend to the mind to aid any signs of depression and anxiety

¶ Improves lymphatic flow by the removal and elimination of waste

¶ Can help many ailments such as headaches, migraines, backache, arthritis, insomnia, sinusitis, IBS, hormone imbalance, asthma, and many more.

Seated Acupressure

Seated acupressure massage is a hybrid of the ancient Oriental arts of Anma and Shiatsu. It is a meridian based therapy in which thumb, elbow and knuckle pressure are used over many of the acupressure points of the 12 major meridians accessible on the back, arms, hands and neck.

This technique helps to stimulate and balance the flow of energy through the body, which in turn stimulates the circulatory, muscular, nervous, immune and lymphatic systems while promoting the release of endorphins, leaving you feeling in a relaxed but energised way.

The ergonomic design of the chair completely supports your body in total comfort allowing easy access to the acupressure points without removal of clothing. (oils can be used if preferred.)

Benefits of the treatment include:

¶ helps back ache

¶ helps repetitive strain injury

¶ helps alleviate headaches, migraines and eye strain

¶ helps sinus problems

¶ helps reduce depression, anxiety and stress

¶ helps reduce insomnia

¶ boosts the immune system

¶ reduces stiffness and flexibility

¶ will help you feel relaxed, refreshed and energised

Uplifting Facial Massage

Also known as facial rejuvenation massage, this wonderfully relaxing treatment uses techniques from Japanese and Indian face massages and facial reflexology. Using a range of massage techniques, it helps to improve the appearance of fine lines and reduce facial tension.

Our faces are in constant use from smiling, frowning, eating, yawning etc. and our facial muscles can get tense. This tension can restrict the blood vessels feeding our facial tissue which reduces blood and lymph circulation and prevents the efficient removal of waste products. This treatment helps to reduce the muscle tension and improve blood flow to encourage a fresher and healthier look. Releasing the deep seated tension in the face helps to free layers of muscle and connective tissue which tones the entire area and improve the muscle tone and skin elasticity.

This is a great one off treatment before a special event, or 6-8 weekly sessions will give the best long term result.

Benefits include;

¶ Improve skin suppleness

¶ Reduce and release any muscle tension in the face and jaw

¶ Reduce the appearance of expression lines and wrinkles

¶ Help relieve stress symptoms such as insomnia, headaches and eye strain

¶ Tone and help tighten the skin and underlying muscle

¶ Aid lymphatic circulation increasing the elimination of toxins and the supply of nutrients to the cells

¶ Promotes circulation

¶ enhance relaxation
